We took the basic gaslamp district segway tour and it was amazing. Our tour guide, Justin (pronounced in french, for our purposes) was great. He was succint in his explanations and it felt less like a typical tour guide and more of “a guy showing us around town.” Plus, I can’t forget to mention the fun of the segway itself. It took like 5 minutes to get used to, then it was off we go. My girlfriend still wants to buy one.

Because of the convenience of the segway themselves, we were able to go to nice places where people usually walk through (petco park, next to the USS..midway? I think it’s the USS midway) so we get the best of both worlds; speed to be able to see most things in downtown san diego/gaslamp district and the ability to see things you can’t just see by “driving by.” Bring your camera…it’s well worth it.

September 26, 2009 – The ONLY way to see the city. Go everywhere, see all the sites. The Segway Gaslamp tour hit everything from the cruise ships, to Balboa Park, Convention Center and PETCO Park. Great stories, fun guides and what a way to travel. Ike Fazzio was the perfect tour host – funny, personable and full of information and insights. Could not have spent a better day. The morning tour was so good I signed up for the afternoon tour of Coronado. Again, I got Ike Fazzio as my tour guide and I was surprised that he had more info and inside stories about the history and development of Coronado.
This is the best way to see the city. And WAY TOO MUCH FUN! I did not want to get off the Segway. If I can do it, anyone can. I am a klutz and after the safety movie and some practice I had no problems. Great ice-breaker for a small group or a way to have fun with your teenagers. By far, the BEST VALUE in San Diego.
