Prof R.G.Gidadhubli, former director of the Centre of Central Eurasian Studies (known as the Centre for Soviet Studies before the Soviet break-up), is an economist specializing on Soviet economy and on the economic transition of the commonwealth of Independent States. Over the last about four decades besides publishing 5 books, he has contributed to several edited volumes and academic journals over 300 articles and research papers on various economic issues concerning the former USSR, Russia and Central  Asian States and India’s economic relations with these countries..
